About Danny Lehr

I'm Danny Lehr. I coach Olympic weightlifting, I own Excel Health & Fitness in Manteca, California, and I co-founded Caffeine and Kilos. My main site is dannylehr.com.

I competed in Olympic weightlifting from 2010 to 2019. I went fifth at the 2012 American Open and seventh at the 2013 National Championships in the 94kg class. In 2019 I won the Masters World Cup at M35 89kg with a 266 total. I trained at California Strength under Glenn Pendlay and then Dave Spitz. I'm USA Weightlifting Sports Performance certified, and a CrossFit Level 3 Trainer.

What The Lifting Fix is

Starting in June 2015 I put out one free weightlifting technique video a week. One fault, one fix, usually under two minutes. I did it every single week for fifty-four straight weeks without missing one, then kept going into December 2016. Sixty-four of those episodes are here, filed by the fault they fix rather than by the date they went out.

Along the way a lot of good people came on camera to help: Aaron Horschig of Squat University, Zach Long, Ursula Papandrea, Noah Ohlsen, Matt Bruce, Tom Kallas and others. Their episodes are collected here.

If you don't know which fix you need, the Self Lifting Fix asks you four questions and points you at it. There's also a one-page snatch pull checklist and a list of the best free weightlifting resources that I keep current.

Why it's free

Because it was always free. It went out free every week for a year and a half, and putting it behind an email form now would be a worse version of what it was. There's no signup on this site and there isn't going to be one.

There is one thing I charge for: a professionally filmed, structured course that covers the snatch, clean and jerk from positions through to common errors and corrections. That's here, and it's a one-time purchase. Everything else on this site is free.

What I do now

I still coach, but most of my week goes to the gym and to 1:1 performance coaching for business owners. If you found this site because of weightlifting, that probably isn't for you, and that's fine. If you want to know what else I'm working on, it's all at dannylehr.com.
