You Are Rushing the Lift and Have No Tempo

The fault

Trying to be fast everywhere instead of fast in the right place.

Why it happens

Skills get built in an order: positions, then tempo, then technique. Lifters who skip to speed end up fast and out of position, which is just a quicker way to miss.

The fix

A drill that teaches you to slow down in order to speed up. Get the positions repeatable at a controlled tempo and the speed shows up on its own where it belongs.
