Your Heels Come Off the Floor in the Squat

The fault

Heels lifting during the squat.

Why it happens

When the heels come up, the load moves to the front of the foot and the whole squat shifts forward. Trying to fix it under a barbell usually just produces a slower version of the same fault.

The fix

Go back to basics with a goblet squat. Zach Long, DPT explains why regressing the movement is often the fastest way to keep the heels down under a bar.
